You too! ^^ 13 years is pretty old for a dog (but Mr James' dog still beats that). This modern world has created lots of cures for so many sicknesses etc. Hope you can spend more years with your ol' Rudy.
Happy to meet you! Yes, I have endeavored long and hard to spoil Mr. Rotten. I got him when he was 3 yrs
old from a lady who was looking for a home for him and his mother. She already had two German Shepherds and four cats. My own Pomeranian, Short Cake, had
died two weeks previously. The lady picked me out of
29 responses she got and I have been spoiling "Prancing
Rudolf" (where do they get these names on their papers?) ever since. He is a Maltese. I keep him clipped short and he seems to like it better. He is 13 yrs old now. Three years ago he started a Mitral Heart Murmor. He has an enlarged heart and takes 7 different kinds of medicine twice a day; but his cardiologist says that she has never seen a dog this old so stable for so long. He just started a brand-new med a couple of weeks ago. This is "Vetmedin" the new wonderdrug for dogs with Congestive Heart Failure. It was recently approved for use in the US although it has been in use in Europe for a few years already. Using it overtime will actually shrink the heart. So, now, I am hoping to have my Rudy even longer than I thought. Please check back often because I will be adding more to Rudy's site.
