What are your dog(s) names and ages:
What is your dog's breed? (If you have more than one dog, please list a name followed by breed.)
Part Golden Ret and Yellow Lab. Freddie is a retired seeing-eye dog and is now 14 years old. He's been learning to be a dog again. He just started barking about a year ago. Apparently he was trained not to bark. Now he barks for treats. He's loves everyone and is now our "over 55" neighborhood's mascot. Everyone loves Freddie. He changed my life. He was doing "therapy" work for awhile, but he seemed bored with it so now we just play and take walks and visit with the neighbors. He's really a good-looking man.
About Me:
I've been retired for 10 years. I got Freddie from the seeing-eye society in New Jersey. I was really lucky to get him. Not many retired seeing-eye dogs are placed outside of there immediate family. We have a wonderful time together.
What is one thing your dog does that reminds you to open your heart and love more deeply?
Freddie loves everyone so much. His tail is always waging and he just brings a smile to your face. He's big, and very gentle and has perfect dog manners. His acceptance of everyone makes me realize how simple life would be if everyone acted like Freddie.

Hi Charlene,

My Boy's name is Freddie. I adopted him from the seeing Eye society in Morristown, NJ 4 year ago. He was retired because his eyesight wasn't as good as it should be and he was slowing down. He was just perfect for me, because I was 67 when I got him, so we're growing older together. He's deft now, so he no longer obeys his commands. At first I thought that was sad. But a friend pointed out to me that now Freddie is really free from working and can finally enjoy his retirement and do exactly as he pleases. I live in an over 55 community and he is the mascot of the neighborhood. So many of the folks just wait for me to take him for his walk and spoil him with treats. He's 14 now and has arthritis pretty bad in his back legs, but a long as he's willing we'll just keep on trucking.

I'm glad that Buddy has accepted Morris. He sure is a cutel ittle pouch. May you, buddy and Morri have a wonderful holiday season.
He is such a very good boy though.

Hi Claire, What a beautiful doggie you have. What is his or her name? Thanks for inviting me to be your friend. I wish you and your loved ones, two and four legged, feathered too, a Happy Holiday and a Healthy Happy New Year.
Your friend,
Charleen and my baby boy, Buddy and my newly acquired Cat named Morris.
He was left about a year ago by a neighbor who moved and I adopted him. I hate when people disregard their pets. I had him neutered and he is such a nice kitty, gentle and smart too. Buddy did not like him at first but I gradually convinced Buddy to accept Morris. Morris loves dogs but my Buddy did not love cats. But now they seem to be best friends.
