What is your dog's breed? (If you have more than one dog, please list a name followed by breed.)
Daisy is a shepard/Dalmatian & Dancer is a Border Collie/?
I have lost Winter, my Dalmatiean earlier this year at age 12 1/2 and Princess, my Terri Poo 2 years ago , at 16 1/2
What is one thing your dog does that reminds you to open your heart and love more deeply?
Dancer loves everyone. When he meets another dog, he lies down to show them he won't try to dominate him. Daisy hates all strangers, she lived her first 6 years in a tiny basement apartment. But she is so gentle with our many cats. She holds out diabetic cat down & cleans his ears.
Do you have a website or personal page (such as on Facebook or MySpace) that you'd like to share with other members of our community?
Yay! My Daisy is a superstar. She got her nails done today with much less fuss than last month. Last time she nipped the groomer AND pooped on the floor, so anything is an improvement, but even the groomer said she did well today. It only took 3 people to do it.
I was just looking thru the Rescue Dog section of this website & saw your comments.
First of all, my condolences to you on the loss of your dog.
I lost my girl Chia in June 08, she was 16 years old & I miss her dearly.
I started volunteering at the local shelter shortly after Chia passed away & told myself that I would just walk dogs at the shelter & not adopt one too soon. Well, in Jan 09 I walked this beautiful Dalmatian/Bulldog mix & she was completely deaf - I fell in love with her immediately - she was so loving & gentle. I adopted her & it's been a bit of a challenge, not because she's deaf but more because of her separation anxiety. I hope in time she will not be too stressed out & we will all live in harmony.
Good luck to you & Dancer - He sounds like a great dog!
