What is your dog's breed? (If you have more than one dog, please list a name followed by breed.)
Tr. Bichon, Ch. Bichon, Bitsy Peke, Phee toy poodle
My children have families of their own. It's just me and the furbabies. I worked in animal rescue and that is where my bichons and peke came from. I bought the poodle for a granddaughter who lived with me for a time and couldn't take her when she left so she stayed.
What is one thing your dog does that reminds you to open your heart and love more deeply?
They show me unending unconditional love. They greet me every time I come in the door and they try their best to leave with me when I have to leave. They are all big Momma's babies, and the resues were puppy mill rescues so don't trust anyone else as a rule. They prefer me. Who wouldn't love that? lol. They just make me smile.

Yes, Daisy is a Dane, although she is so overweight, you wouldn.t know it! Dhe looks like a great big lab right now. We have her on a diet, which she isn't happy about!
If you go to the tabs above, you will find one called "GROUPS". Click on that and there are different groups you can also join. I belong to the Pet Loss one, the Prayers For My Pup and the Fight Cancer one. There are some intersting discussions in them.
Hi Dee---God I hope they don't say it is Cancer--we just finished with that in January when Bailey died. Yes, Cancer is very prevalent--it is the 2nd cause of death in dogs next to being hit by a car.
We live in the Southern part of Oregon, about 25 miles north of the California border off of Interstate 5. I am anxiously awaiting some warm weather and sunshine--I have just about had my fill of rain!
Thanks Dee----Mr. Bailey was a challenge form the beginning! He was an awful teenager and really wasn't much more than a teen when he was hit. Having that trauma, changed all of our lives forever! It has certainly made me a more involved/informed pet parent and in some ways made me almost paranoid about their health!
Benson, the pup is almost 7 months old and for 2 months now, he has been limping slightly on his right front leg. The vet initially diagnosed "Panosteitis" shich is a fancy name for growing pains. She had me reduce his food and rest him. 2 months later, he has had some worse days and some better days, but he is still not healed totlally.
I take Daisy to the vet this Saturday for a check up---we just rescued her last week and have no idea what her health is like, and I will make an appointment for Benson for follow-up. In watching him closely--I am leaning toward a pinched nerve in his neck, or a mild case of Wobblers. In any case, he still needs to be seen. Poor guy hasn't been to the dog park or out for many walks either---it has rained unmercifully here in the Northwest for what feels like forever!
Thanks for your concern and I wil keep everyone posted under the Prayers for my pup group.
