Jerry Dunham commented on Jill Stout's blog post Bailey---My Hero
"I certainly understand what you've been through with Bailey. They all leave us much too soon, and the giant breeds are the worst in that regard. At least you have Benson to focus on and keep your mind off of the loss of Bailey. It's…"

Jerry Dunham commented on James Jacobson's blog post A New Maltese Enters our Life under unfortunate Circumstances
"Been there; done that. In a way, it seems like this was what choosing to take only one puppy last year was leading up to. If you'd already had two, it might have made it more difficult for you to be Tinkerbell's savior, and I suspect that…"

Jerry Dunham commented on James Jacobson's blog post dogs vs. kids???
"I'm with Don Adams. I've had both, but far more dogs and cats have passed through this house, and with far less destruction and aggravation. I love my boys, but I'd never want to do that again. The dogs and cats I keep doing over and…"

Jerry Dunham commented on James Jacobson's blog post Kanga loves her brand new halter
"For control of dogs that aren't leash trained, I prefer a martingale, AKA "Greyhound collar". I don't know how well they work with the little "snack size" dogs, but for out-of-control larger dogs they are much better…"

"Perhaps we ought to be promoting pet rocks again. A certain segment of the pet-owning population would be better off with one, and it would have saved their current pets a lot of misery. It's not like owning a pet is a requirement in…"

You are most welcome Jerry. :D Thank you for the kind words. When I first read the Jacobson's plans to adopt littermates, a lot of red flags went up. I could not help but put my two cents in as a trainer and leave my advice/opinions. I totally agree with you that the time is not now for them to be a multi-dog family. (Especially of littermates.) I am very happy with their decision. Molly wrote me personally to thank me for my honest advice. That was very nice of her.
Don't you LOVE that picture!? It's one of my favorites. It was taken at our local Humane Society shelter event called "Woofstock Adoption Day." Most of the dogs there were shelter dogs and mixed breeds. I think the one in question was some sort of a hound mix. I'm not sure which type. I DO have a great shot of a Rhodie in one of my galleries. Here is the link:
He was a purebred at one of our agility trials. Beautiful female named SunCatcher. (Which she totally did in that shot. lol) Thank you for checking out my site! I hoped you enjoyed the tour.
May this Holiday Season bring you Peace..

thanks for your note. I'm sorry to hear about Toots passing. Have you read "the rainbow bridge"? it's a lovely poem about our pets leaving us and waiting to cross the bridge together. You can google it. kids love it, and i'm a little childlike myself in my attitudes. i think we can hear our pets tell us when it's time. SOme think they don't want to go through that loss ever again. I know we will always have pets. We miss them and remember them but why would you not want another to love and be loved by? i'm happy to hear you and your wife have Sheva and Heidi. Have a happy Easter. Rocky used to hunt for eggs with the kidsand steal candy from their baskets.lots of great memories.
now he's sleeping, waiting for easter dinner.

I am sorry to hear about Goot's passing. It is so hard, it makes you think twice before getting another. My dog Shaanon died 2 years ago, but it still chokes me up...

What is a running hound?
