I love dogs!
I've been an online counselor for those who are grieving the loss of a pet for the last 4-1/2 years.
What is one thing your dog does that reminds you to open your heart and love more deeply?
Whenever Coco lays beside me and licks my hand or face...I am reminded of how small gestures from the heart can make a deep impact and brighten the day of another.

It will be two weeks since Rio passed away. I have been overwhelmed with flowers, sympathy cards from friends and family. I received a beautiful floral arrangement with a nice size cuddly teddy bear on Monday. There was a beautiful note attached but no name. I cried when I read the note. Rio touched so many lives in his 12 years. He was very much loved. The condolences keep coming everyday. Four days after Rio passed at around 1am I heard a little bell (Rio wore a cat collar with a bell so I could here him at night if he paced) and a bark. I kept asking God to give me a sign that Rio was in good hands. Well, I truly believe Rio gave me a sign and he is now a little angel and resting peacefully in heaven. Oliver seems to be doing better. I've been taking him to work, and doggy day care in the morning. So many people have offered their help during this time.
We will visit Rio's grave over the weekend. Above him are flowers and a St Francis of Assisi figurine that I picked out for Rio. Rio was buried in a beautiful baby blue blanket with a silk ribbon. I gave my little Rio a kiss on his forehead when he passed away and wrapped him up in his blanket. I placed him in his tiny coffin. Family gathered early morning June 28th , we held hands and said a prayer and we laid Rio to rest. My friend paid a tribute to Rio on her website. You are all welcome to view it: www.flexstar.net (scroll to the bottom of the page and you'll see Rio with Oliver..... (Paula, love the picture of you and your dog : )
That is such a cute pic of you and your dog! I am new to this dog talk and absolutely love it. Another thing I love about my dog is that she is much more outgoing than me, helps me meet people when I take her places!
Coco Latte is a cutie. I got some counselling on line after my little Summer died, it helped me alot. Its a great service you offer esp for people like me who had never owned a pet before, let alone lost one they loved more than anything. Keep up the good work !
what a cutie. What a wonderful thing you do counseling other people with the loss of their pets. There really is such a strong bond between us and our babies. Welcome.....
