Hi, Suzy. Our little Tasha was a ShitTsu. She died from cancer about two years ago and we haven't gotten another dog yet. She was like a member of the family and we are still grieving. I enjoy seeing videos of other dogs, however, and I hope at some time we'll be ready to love another dog.

What are your dog(s) names and ages:

What is your dog's breed? (If you have more than one dog, please list a name followed by breed.)
Sheltland Sheepdogs
About Me:
Born in Ca, raised and educated. Became a lifetime member of "Action for Animals rights in 1985, which is now called North County Humane, a non kill shelter. Graduated in 1976 from a small community college here in the heart of God's country, became a LVN in 1982, and continued with my nursing degree and the aid of helping people till April 01, until I had a serious car accident. Although it did not ruin my spirit. Although disabled for several yrs I am a supporter of the ASCPA which I spend weekly sessions online concerning all animals, after all they are part of God's Creatures. I have two beautiful sable and white Shelties brothers, age 11
who are the inspiration of my life. Ever notice the word Dog is actually God spelled backwards. The know when I have a had a bad day, they console me when I am down, and they bring me back up with the love only a person would know having animals in their lives. I have a 23 yr old and of course Sammy and Twosoxs with two kitties Smokey and Ms. Lil both of these two cats were rescues and are as compassionate as my Shelties are.
What is one thing your dog does that reminds you to open your heart and love more deeply?
That both Sammy and Twosoxs are non judgemental, they except me for whom I am, and love me unconditionally as I do them.

My sheltie is urinating blood, what does it mean?

I took my 11 yr old Sheltie to the vet as when out on our walks, Sammy would mark his spot but after a while he would start urinating blood.

I took him to the vet and the y did a urnine sample and other blood tests. They said his red cell count was very high, but couldn't find the reason why he was "peeing blood". So I called my old vet in San Diego Ca and he told me it had to do with his prostate. The new vet gave him

Ramdryl @ 25mg tablet to be given when ness. He still is peeing… Continue

Summer is almost here

Summer is almost here, and having two adorable long haired Shelties I must remind myself and others to watch out for foxtails and the destruction they can do to the inside of their ears, throat, paws. I take a pair of clipping shears, and carefully trim around all areas of Sammys and Two soxs body in hopes that they won't get foxtails stuck in hiding places on their bodies. Two soxs several yrs ago had a foxtail stuck in between his "toes" on one foot, after hours of trying to pry the foxtail… Continue
