Preparing for your Puppy’s Arrival

All of us get excited when we adopt a new puppy & bring it home. However, most of us forget about a few things we should purchase before bringing in our new family member. Some people out there like buying bedding from garage sales. I prefer buying new…

Pesky Little Chicken Bones: What to do?

So my parents were in town last weekend and I wanted to treat them to dinner, so I went the cheap route and took them to KFC :) Swayze (my 2 year old Black Lab/Pit mix) could hardly contain herself as she sat there patiently waiting for the scraps we never give her.

After I was finished I walked into the kitchen to dump my plate into our covered trash can when Swayze came out of nowhere and like Batman snatched up a small bone out of mid air. I've never seen her move that…

Routine Update for Rusty

I was waiting until after our monthly appointment with Dr. Macy before updating Rusty’s blog and then our temperatures finally dropped into a comfortable level and I got busy on some deferred projects. This is my favorite time of the year. The weather is gentle inspiring me to meditate & dwell on my sentimental thoughts. Everybody is looking forward to Christmas & I just want to get stuck here in time. I…

It’s raining Cats & Dogs!

In mythology wolves & dogs were assistants of Odin the god of storms. Sailors thought storms were related to wolves & dogs. There is also a tale that pets lived on the roof so when it rained heavily they felt from the roof. It’s said that in 17th/18th century…

Good Dog Manners

Just like babies dogs require some training. The first thing I tried teaching my dog is being friendly. Even the nicest dog could be unpropitious at times & pay little or no attention to guests’ amiable intentions. In the beginning I always praised my dog & gave him a treat when he didn’t bark…
