Does your dog love Halloween?

This is Kanga's first spooky holiday, which makes me wonder whether she'll like it or not. Kanga definitely loves kids. When we're on the beach, she gets very excited whenever there's a small child nearby. She looks up at us like "can I go over?" And if the kid invites her to play, she always accepts the invitation with lots of wiggles and running. I live in a neighborhood with lots of children. There is not much traffic, so on Halloween our sleepy neighborhood becomes a "destination" for parents from other neighborhoods. They drive over, park, and walk around with their kids to collect candy. So we could easily get 100 kids on Halloween evening. I think Kanga will like sitting outside our house with us and greeting the kids in their costumes. But the big question at our house is: Does Kanga wear a costume?? I'm not big on dressing our dog up. Kanga is so good natured that I'm sure she'd go along with whatever we wanted, but I don't want her miserable. I was looking online for some inspiration, and came across this video. It made me think maybe I should skip a costume for Kanga. Don't the dogs in this video look upset with their dad?
I think I might go with the "minimalist" dog costume, like these pet store owners recommend. We have a little bandana that our groomer gave Kanga the last time she got a haircut. Maybe this "chic" outfit is all she needs. It's in the picture up above. Do you dress your dog up for Halloween? What do you say?

Those 2 little dogs look miserable. I believe the bandanna will do just fine. I know my girls, they wouldn't have anything to do with a costume. Kanga is beautiful, no matter what.

Tophy doesn't like dressing up either, so I don't bother with anything more than a bandana. Last Halloween I tried by cats ears, with matching bow tie and tail, on him. He was just bored with the whole thing. I agree, to start small and see how Kanga feels.

Absolutely adorable little darlings! They looked anxious to get out of their costumes. We couldn't believe how long Pixie and Wickett sat pretty for the video. Made me want to just give them a big hug! You're a wonderful disciplinarian James.

Missy enjoys wearing her bandana and maybe a little jacket, but no costumes for her.

My dogs will wear a jacket as long as it doesn`t hinder their movements so they have a few simply made ones out of different materials, a bow in the hair and some fancy fake diamond collars.

These two dogs look so they just have been punished and they are probably wonding...."WHAT FOR????". I am not too keen about dressing up animals for Halloween, if you must just make is simple, like the bandana, besides Kanga is such a cutie. It will be interesting how she will react to all the different costumes that the kids will be wearing.

I really like the bandana that someone mentioned...Kanga is a beautiful little fur baby and doesn`t need anything to cover her beautiful hair and make her miserable like the 2 babies in the video...If you decide to take a vote,I vote NO costume!!!

Kanga would look so cute with just a little princess tiara or a pink princess collar foo foo collar like the minimalist ones shown!

We don't dress any of ours up. I don't any of them would let us! Last year, though, my husband & I dressed as ghouls...blackclothing, scary face paint, wicked hair, etc. to sit on our porch and greet the trick-or-treaters Our cocker spaniel went crazy...he growled at us, me especially...did not recognize us until we spoke and still even then did NOT like what he saw! It was spooky for him!

My Lhasa I had years ago loved to be dressed up. He liked sweaters in the winter, had a denim jacket and even a black pleather biker jacket. He never wanted me to take them off once I put them on he usually wore them for a couple of days. I only dressed him occasionally, but he really liked it!

Cute bandana only. The dogs I have known hate being dressed up which for includes winter jackets.
