My Babies Tommy, Dixie, and Harley

Hello, My name is Sammy and I have a zoo at my home. Tommy is 10 year old shepard chow husky mix. He is my husbands dog. Even though I have trained him and feed him he rarely listens to me. Oh well. We got him when he was 6 months old. Someone was giving the dogs away and she had him tied to a tree. Tommy is a very smart dog but very stubern.
Dixie is my cuddle butt kissy face pitbull. She is such a loving dog and loves children. We got her when she was 9 months old. She had already been passed around through people before I took her in. People who lived in a motel room would lock her into a bathroom and she had seperation anxiety bad so she would tear up the bathroom. They were going to take her to the shelter but I told them I would take her. We had alot of problems with her that we finally worked out and as she got older she calmed down. She is now able to be left loose with Tommy in the house.
We just recently rescued Harley. He is a 2 1/2 year old brindle pitbull. The first owner was sent to prison and his brother asked us if we knew of anyone who could take the dog. Then the weekend before halloween we were told to come get him or they would take him to the shelter which is full so they would put him down. So we have him now. On halloween I took him to get neutered and have his shots up to date. A rescuse group paid for it the vet bill. He is recoperating from his surgery but wants to rough house all the time. He also was taught to hump everything since the owner thought it was funny. So we are working on that as well as him thinking the other small animals I have are food for him. Once his stitches are disolved and I think he is ready I will be training him since he doesn't know manors and all.

Yes rescue dogs will re learn good behaviour with love and training. We foster dogs and some have been strays from the pound so we have no back ground on them. We have a little Maltese at the moment who has separation anxiety but i have found if i change the routine each morning and "trick" him (though he has worked out some of my methods) and not make a fuss about going he is ok.They also copy of other dogs my Male poodle is a good boy and i often pair him up with the rescue dogs especially with on lead work and eventually they follow him because they see he gets a treat for doing as he is told. One of our rescue dogs almost got put down because the animal welfare league didn`t think he could be re homed, i took him to doggie school with my Poodle with in minutes he worked out the other dogs were getting a treat he immediately followed what Charlie did.
