There are nearly 100 homes in my neighborhood, and five
of them belong to Maltese (dogs).

Kanga loves her little white friends, but she doesn't look
anything like them. We keep her in super-short cut, and they
all have traditional long, lovely locks.

Our neighbors spend hours each week brushing that long hair.

Kanga spends hours at the beach. When it's time to go home,
she knows she's in for a little shower, but it doesn't take long
and she's dry in minutes.

When it's time to get trimmed up, she prances afterward.
It's hot in Maui year round, so it seems she likes the feeling
of a "light coat."

Tink came to our house with a grooming appointment already set.

Tink has the same groomer that Kanga has, which is convenient.

Lovely, sweet Allyson has been with us for several years. Maui
loved her to pieces. In fact, Allyson helped my sweet dog
pass away. Just days before she left for the Rainbow Bridge,
Allyson came and gave Maui with a loving bath and trim. We weren't
sure Maui would want the session because she was already very
sick, but when she saw Allyson, she wagged her little tail more
than she had in a month.

Anyway, when Tink came to us on Easter, she already had a
grooming appointment set up.

We kept it, of course, and Allyson came by.

Tink now has the signature Jacobson cut. Super short,
sporty, and ready for a roll in the sand!

I'm so grateful to Allyson for taking such good care of all three
of my girls. She's an angel, for sure.

She's given my little Tinkerbell a real pixie cut.

Oh so sweet! I bet your girls look great! Hats off to Allyson for her grooming expertise and for the special love and attentiveness she gives to your pups. I have to shear down my two Shih Tzus as summer is approaching here in Minnesota and yes it does get hot here for a few months.

Tinkerbell is precious. It was so special the way she came to you. I'm sure her owner misses her but this is best for little Tink. It was so nice that your dog Maui had such a special relationship with your groomer too. I love the cut. I keep a puppy cut on my little maltepoo Tarzan, because of the poodle in him he has curly but not tight curly hair and it tangles easily. I also had a Yorkie that I kept in a puppy cut, it was so much nicer for him and also for me.

i live in Indiana so we have the four seasons of different weather. I useally let our little Mitzi's coat grow out in the fall through winter then get her a pixie cut in the spring and summer. that seems to work out pretty well. She is a maltese/yorkie mix.

I love the short look on Tink. I have a shih/poo and I keep his hair short in a 'puppy cut'. When we first got 'Sparkie' he had long shaggy hair and was tangled. He was a stray that we rescued from an animal shelter. He looks and feels so much better with short hair. We got him with the urging of my husband after we had lost our little mini dachsund of 13 yrs. to cancer. I was still in mourning and didn't think I was ready to love another dog, but after we brought Sparkie home and got him groomed and got to know him....I feel in love with him. Of course he's spoiled, but isn't that what pets are for?

Your little "Pixies" are precious! The look quite neat and happy in a Jacobson cut. It is so important to keep a dog clean and comfortable and that their coat fits their lifestyles and yours. I think it is wonderful that they can be clean, cool and comfortable year round. What a loving choice for your furry little companions. You are so lucky to have such a caring groomer.

Hi Folks: Here in Northern Ontario, Muskoka Lake region, that cute pixie cut would be perfect for our hot weather from mid-late June to late August, early September (we hope) but then we get 32 degree to minus 32 degrees in the Winter, and even with warm coats Tink and Kanga would feel the cold in those short and sweet styles. I have five Yorkies, Four Girls Plus a Guy, Molly named my last little girl for me Hokulani (Hoku), that because of our temperatures here are in full coat all year round

I like the cut. I keep my Yorkies with a pixie cut, too. My groomer begged me because I was not keeping the mats out of their hair. She said I'd love the cuts and I have ever since. It's been years. They are so much cuter and ofcourse as you say, cooler. Atlanta can get hot, too. BTW, I was walking from the car to the grocery store and 2 small doggies started barking and barking. I looked up to see 2 small Maltese in a car (with their owner and the windows down). I thought of you. Diane from the Atlanta area.
