Hi Annette and everybody! Thanks for your message from last month. Our Human has had a lot going on and taking the computer with her so it has been hard to snatch, so sorry for the delay in getting back! Also, Dear Pack, Hi! We are loving reading your stuff! We were hoping you would write in to our Dog Blog which is for animals only! And send us a picture! So we can post about you! It's at http://www.luluandlolly.com, click on Dog Blog Today's News! We think you will enjoy it because it is where all animals can sound off about many important issues. Also, Annette, can you please write us and tell us the name of the shelter you put money aside for? Our project was 2-steps, and we are in step 2 -- see after we raised money, we are using part of it to ship (not cheap!) 10 calendars each to shelters in need, so that they can sell them and keep all the profits. This is our way of trying to help in a fun and uplifting way! Anyway, they can raise $150- $200 depending on what they sell them for. We thought you were so sweet to write, and also you have such an outstanding pack, that we were hoping we could send to your shelter that you help too. That's the way we do it -- we reach out to shelters that come our way at the Dog Blog or however else, through this crazy world wide web of connekshons (sp?). OK, we're hoping to hear back from you super soon, even tho we were so lame about responding fast ourselves. Love, Your PaLs, LuLu and LoLLy! http://www.luluandlolly.com. Oh ps! You can also reach us through the contact form on our luluandlolly site and then we will send you our email if that is easier! We don't want to put our email down here because of the evil spam monsters that get it if you put it anywhere!
Annette, Thank you for the nice words. As I write Oliver is sleeping here in my office. You should see him when I grab my purse in the morning -he is ready to go to work ; )
I enjoy his company very much. I thought about my little Rio over Thanksgiving. Remembering all the fun he had feasting and dressing up. Its strange but on the 28th of each month I think of Rio. I think you know from reading all my stuff that he passed on June 28th. I still can't believe he is gone. Oliver has helped me so much the last five months. Having Oliver by my side has made a difference, as well as the support I have received from all my friends. Oliver ate a little too much turkey...no wonder he was so sleepy ! Hope you had a beautiful time with your babies.
Hi Annette, I thought about getting a friend for Oliver. But, Oliver has always been very independent ever since my boyfriend bought him 9 years ago. Oliver grieved for a week, never lost his appetite. Since Rio's passing in June, Oliver and I have been together 24/7. He is doing really fine. It will be Oliver and me for sometime. We have so much fun together at work, running errands etc. I always wanted to do the memorial and make Rio's gravesite as beautiful as can be. Rio deserves a beautiful resting place. It brings me comfort knowing that Rio's final resting place is beautiful and peaceful.
Thank you for being our friend : )
How are you doing with your Maltese babies? I am doing just fine with Oliver. Rio will always be in my heart and remembered but I am doing fine focusing all my loving attention to Oliver (who by the way loves it ! )
Thank you for your message, yes that is a puppy picture. When I learn how to put more pictures on I will do so. Yes my girls are very small, they sleep in a bassnet next to me at night and they so with use all the time. we love them so much they are our kids.
Annete, I too have a pet store (puppy mill) maltese. She is the larger of the two in the pictures. Her name iss Jesse MArie and she is the love of my life. We have an unspoken language between us. I'm sure you know what I'm talking about. Jesse has alway had different ailment since she was a puppy, And it wasn't until the day be fore she crashed and had a full blown addisons crisis did we know what was wrong with her. The Vets were GREAT! they brought her vback to life. God as always, had a major hand in her recovery. I remember when they told me that she may die, she was only 3 and my best friend. her heat rate wa s 30 sodium and potassium out of whack not urinating and to top it off pancreatitis. I called everyone on my cell phone and asked them to pray for Jesse and within 1/2 hour of doing so she started to come around....I can't imagine the heartache after loosing your sweet baby...but as you said someone has to love pupp y mill pups. they were brought into this worl under such cruel conditions, we have to spoil and love them to make up for that...thanks for e mailing me. Rita
Annette, thank you for the kind words. Some days are better and others are not. I try to remember the good, happy days with Rio and there were many. You are right 12 years is a long time...... I was very blessed to have Rio that long. Today I'm somewhat better. I should be getting Rio's granite stone marker this week. I am not too sure how I will react once it is placed on his grave. Thanks again for your thoughts.
thank you annette for your comments and after reading your comment I started lacey on angel eyes and it works fantastic. Thanks you for taking the effort to mail me.
Oh and by the way I've finally changed the picture so Jolie AND Lacey are on there. Thanks again antoinette
Oh Annette! I'm so sorry that you lost your baby but I am glad that you've found another baby to rescue. And yes, ha, ha, ha, I sure can believe that 5 lbs. can rule a household! Mine's a little 14 pounder but she is the Princess! And, of course, all 7 of my Cockatiels play they part too!
Annette, Yes, Maltese Rule !
Your little ones are around the same age as mine. Any health problems? Rio who is 12 yrs old was diagnosed with doggie alzehmiers (pacing at night, getting stuck in furniture, forgetting housetraining). He is now on the medication Anipryl and it seems to do the trick in relieving the worst of the symptoms. He also has a touch of arthritis and at 9 yrs old was diagnosed with mitral valve disease (heart disease) His heart is stable now due to the meds he is taking. I look forward to your feedback....
