its been way tooo long since i've been here at this site....I hope life is goin well for you. At this time of year, I hope you celebrate with friends and family and especially with your pets. Thanks for stilll being my friend after all this time.... Murphy & john
Kara, you are a true inspiration to all of us. Guess what? I have/had 2 little dwarf bunnies in my basement too! 2 weeks ago the female (a rescue) passed away after 7 years and of course broke our hearts. The male & she, (neutered & spayed of course), were truly "love bunnies". They were inseparable, and the little female, Phoebe, always groomed and kept her soul mate,"Henri" clean. Now his hair is a mess and my daughter is having to groom him herself. He is fairing well, and ironically one of my Shih Tzus has taken a strong liking to him. So she keeps him from getting too lonely. God truly blesses us with these precious creatures & their memory stays with us forever. I too, cannot imagine a world w/o pets. My 2 daughters are grown; 1 married, 1 about to marry. Then I will be alone w/ just my pets. My 2 bad marriages and recent bad relationships have me totally trusting my animals only. We've been blessed to have them. It is my dream to own my own place to provide more love to as many pets over the next few years I have; and work as long as I have to just to support and care for them. I wanted to retire last year, but now with 3 dogs and a rabbit; I must wait. But they are worth it. That is Buster in the photo; my newest male Shih Tzu. He's 14 wks. He has the sweetest disposition. My female, Izzy, the juvenile just over 1 yr. old is so smart we can't outsmart her! ......And my darling Foxxy the Pom, is my best dog since Jeepers. She spent her life with Jeepers so when he passed we grieved together. She would come to sleep at the foot of my bed for 6 weeks after Jeepers passed, instead of sleeping in her bed with Jeepers' bed in the diningroom. However heartbroken though, we must go on so we can have the opportunity to give a good life with love to as many pets as we can live to have. You will be in my prayers forever....Judy
I'm sorry, Kara. We all have experienced this pain, I think. But to have a home grown service dog and loose him, has got to be the worst. My heart and prayers go out to you. May Spirit be just the dog to l"ift your Spirits" and show you the undying loyalty that Rusty had. I lost my Maltese, Jeepers, last year. He was my emotional service pet.
Prayers are yours for sure. It is a very tough time, I am sure. If you ever feel like sharing and telling us about this special dog, we would love to hear about him / her. www.griefworthy.com. A healing through sharing site. Hug's, Roe
Kara, I am so sorry to hear about your dog. My heart goes out to you. I know how difficult this time will be for you, but enjoy every second that you have left together. He is obviously a wonderful dog. You have given each other a lot of love and comfort. You are so lucky to have each other. Our thoughts and prayers go out to you. Karen, Goldie and Samantha
My goodness Kara! I have been thinking of you and wondering how you are. I'm so sosrry that you have been so sick. I do hope you are OK now. You must be so proud of your son! that is wonderful news.
How is Spirit? I do hope she is OK. I have adopted another puppy as you may know. She is a cocker/king charles/dachound mix..Such a cutie too. Almost 1 year old now and a small girl. She is so full of love. I still miss my Rusty but I feel I have honored Rusty by adopting another dog.
Are you on facebook? Iam let me know if you are.
Many thoughts are with you..You are such a strong preson with much fight. I admire you for that.
Thanks so much for letting me know how you are.
Many prayers are with you.
I AM a miniature....a little bigger than a toy...my dad doesn't cut me like a poodle, but like an adorable teddy bear which I really am...I'm so sorry about Rusty, he willl be waiting for you by the rainbow bridge...give Spirit an even bigger snuggle....murphy
I am so very sorry about Rusty. I know how difficult this is - my husband is a veterinarian, and I worked with him in our practice (All Creatures Great & Small Veterinary Clinic) for 13 years. Please know that as difficult a decision it was for you to euthanize Rusty that it was also the most loving and courageous one you could make. He has moved on beyond pain and is comfortable and whole again, waiting for you.
Have you been to our website? If not, the address is www.otrmemorials.com There are several photos up that show some of the different types of memorials we do - there are several new things too that we just haven't gotten up on the site yet. Our most popular memorials are the pendants, bracelets and sun catchers. Is there anything that has caught your eye?
We encourage you to be a participant in the creation of your special memorial by sharing stories and photos - your amazing page here does just that. We hold those stories in our hearts when we set to work, and let them guide our hands, to bring out the very unique personality that embodies each special piece.
We would be honored to work with you to memorialize Rusty. If, after viewing our site, you have any questions, it would probably be best if we could talk on the telephone. You can call me at (406) 755-5403, or if you prefer, e-mail me a number and time that would be best to reach you.
THANK YOU FOR EMAILING ME BACK. OH, IT DOES TAKE TIME AND I CAN NOT BLAME YOU ONE BIT FOR NOT LOOKING AT THE VIDEOS. IT MAY BE AWHILE YET, BUT IN TIME-YOUR HEART WILL HEAL. I WENT TO AN AWESOME WEB SITE THRU THIS SITE HERE. GO AND LOOK AT IT. IN MY FRIEND LIST CLICK THE PICTURE OF THE 2 WOMEN FROM MONTANA. THEY HAVE A WEB SITE ON THEIR PROFILE. THEY MAKE THE MOST BEAUTIFUL GLASS WORK FOR MEMORIES OF YOUR ANIMAL. SHE TOLD ME SHE MADE ONE TODAY FOR A WOMAN WHO HAD LOST HER DOG AND SHE PUT INSIDE THE GLASS NECKLACE SHE MADE... STRANDS OF THE DOGS HAIR. IT IS JUST WAY COOL. MY LITTLE DOGS ARE SO MUCH A PART OF MY LIFE. IN JAN. I HAVE TO HAVE MY LEFT HIP REPLACED AND I AM MORE WORRIED ABOUT THE 4 OF THEM BEING AWAY FROM ME THEN I AM ABOUT THE SURGERY! NO KIDDING. MY FRISCO (THE BUFF POM) IS REALLY OLD AND I AM FEARFUL HE WILL HAVE A HARD TIME BEING AWAY FOR 3 WEEKS. I WILL NOT BEABLE TO BRING THEM HOME UNTIL I AM STRONG ENOUGH TO MOVE SAFELY THRU MY HOUSE. THEY HAVE A TENDENCY TO GET UNDER FOOT!
AT SOME POINT I WILL TELL YOU ABOUT MY FRIENDSHIP WITH A MAN IN PRISON HERE IN IOWA THAT TRAINS SERVICE DOGS FOR THE BLIND. IT IS QUITE AN UNDERTAKING BUT SUCH A WONDERFUL THING FOR THE INMATES AND THE ANIMALS. THEY ARE CALLED "LEADER DOGS" AND THE INMATES ARE CALLED "HANDLERS" I THINK THAT IS NEAT. IT SURE WORKS OUT FANTASTIC FOR EVERYONE. WHEN I GO AND VISIT HIM IN PRISON, THERE IS ALWAYS 3 OR 4 YOUNG LEADER DOGS IN THE VISITATION ROOM. I LOVE IT!
HAVE A GOOD NIGHT, KARA. AND YOU JUST LOVE THAT LITTLE SPIRIT TO PIECES. HE KNEW AND LOVED RUSTY TOO-
TAKE CARE, MY FRIEND.
I HAVE JUST READ YOUR NOTATION ABOUT THE LOSS OF YOUR BELOVED RUSTY. MY HEART GOES OUT TO YOU AT THIS TIME EVEN THO WE DO NOT KNOW ONE ANOTHER. ALL OF US ON THIS WEB SITE HAVE A COMMON-UNBREAKABLE BOND. THAT BEING THE DEEP LOVE OF OUR DOGS. YOUR DOG WAS SO VERY SPECIAL IN SO MANY WAYS- THANK GOD YOU HAVE SPIRIT AND MAY RUSTY LIVE ON IN YOUR DAYS THRU HIM! YOU WILL BE ON MY MIND ALOT OVER THE NEXT WEEKS TO COME. I AM GOING TO ADD YOU TO MY FRIENDS AND PLAN ON CHECKING IN ON YOU AND SPIRIT FROM TIME TO TIME.
MAY GOD KEEP YOU CLOSE AT THIS TIME IN YOUR LIFE... AND ALWAYS FOR THAT MATTER.
SIOUX CITY, IA.
