Saturday, March 15, 2008. This was a big day for Rusty. We attended Donway Retirement Home and went through an hour and a half evaluation. It was a gruelling ordeal (for me), but Rusty excelled. He didn't appear to know that he was being tested and just did his own thing. His own thing is to be the most placid creature on the face of the earth; letting absolutely nothing bother him. They threw everything they could his way to phase him. They made loud noises throwing cans on the floor, they had people milling all around him, they offered him cookies and then couldn't find his mouth, he had to walk in and around people with crutches, walkers, wheelchairs etc. The outcome was, he became a certified therapy dog through Therapeutic Paws of Canada and we are very proud of his accomplishments so far. Soon, he will begin visiting and making his own friends in nursing homes.

Congratulations to Rusty (as well as to you). That is such great news! To honor Rusty, we are going to dedicate our DVD special to Rusty and all therapy dogs who help make the world a better place. We donate 10% of our revenue from the DVDs (as well as my book) to non-profits that help train service dogs.

Congrats Linda and Rusty! :D It takes a special dog to become a Therapy Dog! Takoda and I have been visiting the Spokane VA hospital for over two years after he passed his test in June 2006. It's an incredible feeling when you see the look on the patients faces when your special dog shares his amazing canine energy of unconditional love, peace and joy. The entire Universe benefits from that good vibration.
Happy Visiting Linda and Rusty! :D

Oh, Linda, that is so wonderful!!!!! I've always been impressed with the dedication and loving service that trainers of service dogs exhibit - and you are certainly a shining example. I have tears in my eyes, thinking about the lucky person who gets to share Rusty's talents. Congratulations!
